Services and Planning

The funeral expresses an occasion to bring forth the memorialization of a family member or loved one who has passed on.

Today, more often than not, funerals are held based on preplanning that occurred before the passing of the deceased.

The prearrangement services, alleviates the burden of making many important, and often challenging decisions during a time of grieving.

Preplanning in advance, in a more relaxed setting, affords you the opportunity to do what is the most appropriate way to prepare.

All funeral arrangements generally are based on the answers to these questions:

  • What will be the final disposition of the body?
  • What type of service would be the most meaningful for the survivors, most fitting for the deceased, and where should the service be held?
  • How will you will finance the services of your choosing.

With regard to the final disposition of the body, several options must be considered. Those options include burial, cremation, entombment in a mausoleum, or some other means that will serve as the final resting place for the deceased.

These options can be matched with a variety of service possibilities.

For example, would you prefer to have a church service, a funeral home service or a service at the gravesite? Would you prefer that the body be present at the selected service? Is it your preference, to have friends and family able to call, or would you prefer that the services be private?

At the Jenkins-King & Malerba funeral home, we will patiently discuss these options and work with you to accommodate both your wishes and those that may have been requested by the deceased.

It is important to decide if the services you have selected will be paid in advance or at the time of need.
