William Zwack Obituary

William J. Zwack, a 76-year-old Ansonia, CT resident and Husband to Nancy Valentine, entered into eternal rest January 25, 2022 at Griffin Hospital.  

Bill was born February 21, 1945 in New Haven, CT, Son of William & Mary Dolzenchuk Zwack.  He has been a meat cutter since the age of 16 and from 1970-1999 was the owner and proprietor of Billy’s Meat Market, Inc., Billy’s Giant Meat Center, and Dodge City Packing, Inc. II, was proudly Ansonia’s first and only ‘First Man’ from 1995-1999, was employed by Stop & Shop since 2016 and was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church, Ansonia.  Bill enjoyed visiting casinos here and abroad, thoroughbred horse races, and Aruba which he considered to be his home away from home, with annual pilgrimages there for over 35 years.

In addition to his Wife Nancy of 36 years he leaves, to cherish his memory, his Children:  John Zwack (Maria) of Hockessin, DE, Kristina Bokon (David) of Cheshire, CT and Victoria Valentine De Dominic (Daniel) of Danielsville, PA.  Grandchildren:  Michael, Sophia, and Ava Zwack and Brooke and Rilee Bokon.  Sisters:  Marilyn Bonyai (Fred) & Virginia Proto, of Prospect, CT.  Brother:  Michael Zwack (Ruth) of West Haven, CT as well as four Nieces, a Nephew, and several Great Nieces & Nephews.

Calling Hours:  Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Jenkins-King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, CT 06401, followed by service at Christ Episcopal Church, Ansonia at Noon.  Burial will be private.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 56 South Cliff Street, Ansonia, CT 06401.
