William Yankowski, age 86, of Beacon Falls passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024 at his home with his family by his side. Born in Derby, CT on December 11, 1937, he was the son of the late William F. Yankowski and Amelia Janicki Yankowski.
Bill’s memory is cherished by his wife of 62 years, Janice (Mulholland) Yankowski, their daughters Sharon Fellows (Bill), Brenda Cash (Alan) as well as six grandchildren Bill, Rachel, Jared, Brielle, Michael, and Haille.
He was a man of great stature, with a booming voice and always the life of any gathering. He would bring one of his many stories to life, and you would feel as if you were there. His charismatic personality left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. Bill took great pride and joy in his grandchildren’s academic achievements and physical talents. He never missed the many academic award ceremonies, dance recitals, music concerts, crew or martial arts. He would always say how proud he was of them. Family meant everything to him.
He proudly served our country in the United States Army stationed in Germany.
He was a devoted fan of UCONN basketball, enjoyed boating on Long Island Sound and vacationing in Maine.
Bill’s burial was held with full military honors. All services remained private.
