William A. Blewett, a 95 year old Ansonia resident and husband to Mary Andrechuk Blewett, died peacefully at home on July 28. He was born Dec. 11, 1927 in Ansonia, son of the late William A. Blewett Sr. and Charlotte Davenport Blewett. A member of Christ Episcopal Church in Ansonia, Bill served in the Army and was a machinist for The Anaconda American Brass Corp. Bill enjoyed a long retirement with Mary spending winters in Northport, FL. Both loved to travel, visit family and their rivalry between the Yankees and Mets. They recently celebrated 72 years of marriage. He was predeceased by his daughter Janice Barton. In addition to his wife, he leaves his son William A. Blewett III of Ansonia, daughters Karen Black (Tracy) of San Antonio TX, & Nancy Blewett of Byron Georgia, granddaughters Micaela Ortiz (Matt) of Nampa, Idaho, and Erica Hall (Scott) of Apopka, FL, and great grandsons Noah and Nathan Hall. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 5 at 10:30 a.m. from The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Christ Episcopal Church of Ansonia or to the charity of one’s choice.
