Walter Fedory Dixon died on Thursday, Oct. 10 at The Bride Brook Health Center in Niantic after an extended illness. He was born Dec. 18, 1943 to Walter Dixon and Titania Fedory Dixon. Besides his parents, Walter was predeceased by his sister Barbara Ann Dixon, his long time companion Elaine Schmittberger and his cousin, Marcis Palmer Barmmer. He is survived by his cousin Judith Palmer Hoyle, her husband Clifford and their family. Walter was a graduate and Class President of the Class of 1961 of Ansonia High School and earned a B.S. Degree in Business Administration from The University of New Haven. He served in The U.S. Army’s Ninth Infantry Division in Vietnam. Upon his retirement as a salesman, he and Elaine enjoyed collecting and selling antiques at various Flea Markets throughout the state. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 10:15 a.m. at the Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave. Ansonia. Friends may call at church from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, has been privileged with arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Three Saints Orthodox Church.
