Thomas John Coonan

Thomas John Coonan, a 54 year old Ansonia resident, entered into eternal rest on Sept. 13. He was born Sept. 5, 1969 in New Haven, son of the late Thomas and Ellen Foley Coonan. He graduated from Emmett O’Brien High School in the class of 1987 and then from Mattatuck Community College. He worked as Department Head for RainTech at  DiGiorgi Roofing & Siding, and was a parishioner of The Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Tom was also a member of the Norwoods Athletic Club in Ansonia. He leaves to cherish his memory his brother Kevin Coonan of Southington and his sisters, Sr. Kathleen Mary Coonan ASCJ of Hamden, Sheila Coonan of Plantsville, Mary Ellen Coonan of Southington and her husband Scott Litchfield, and Patricia Coonan of West Haven. His nieces & nephews Sarah, Adam (Luisa), Liam, Maighread, Johannah, Shannon and a host of cousins and friends, including his colleagues and friends at DiGiorgi Roofing and Siding with whom he worked for over 30 years. We will all miss him dearly. Friends and family may call on Sunday, Sept. 17th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. (DIRECTLY) at The Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Sacred Heart Academy, 265 Benham  St. Hamden, CT 06514.
