Roy David Kozey, age 63, beloved brother, cousin and friend died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 24, 2025 at Yale Hospital’s CT ICU, after a long battle with heart disease. Born in Derby CT on April 9, 1962, he was the son of the late Maxim and Marian (Thompson) Kozey. He grew up in Ansonia and graduated from Ansonia H.S., 'class of '81. He worked for Seymour Specialty Wire, as well as other companies. Roy was an active member of The First United Methodist Church in Ansonia, and found joy in it's bible study program. He loved to travel, study history and concert going. He was also a talented photographer who loved sharing his pictures with family and friends. Roy will be missed by his sister Beverly Kozey and her loving partner Jim Karpiuk, his aunt Madelyn Kozey and many cousins and friends. Special thanks to the caring doctors and nurses at Yale Hosp. CT ICU Unit. A memorial service will be held on August 9th at 11:00 a.m. at The First United Methodist Church in Ansonia. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia has been privileged with arrangements.
