Ronald F. Thompson, age 82, resident of Oxford and husband to Lillian Pearson Thompson, passed away Jan. 17, 2020. He was born Nov. 20, 1937 in Waterbury, son of the late Raymond & Elise Walsh Thompson. Ronald attended Waterbury schools and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. After serving in the U.S. Army, he worked as a meat cutter for Stop & Shop. He was also an avid sharp shooter and member of The High Rock Shooting club. In addition to his wife, he leaves his brother Peter Thompson of Waterbury and a daughter-in-law Cheryl Thompson of Washington. He also leaves several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his son Kurt. Graveside services with burial in the family plot will be held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Southbury Dog Park: Friends of the Dog Park Inc., P.O. Box 58, Southbury, CT 06488.
