Obituary

Richard C. Madgic, an 85 year old Derby resident and husband to Carole Warholic Madgic, passed away at home Feb. 1. He was born March 16, 1936 in Derby, son of the late Samuel and Estelle Sciongay Madgic. Richard was a Derby H.S. graduate, class of ’53.  He was owner & proprietor of The Four Seasons Package Store in Ansonia, and worked in real estate . He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Derby. In addition to his wife, Carole, he leaves two sons, David Madgic of Derby & Brian Madgic of Seymour, four daughters, Linda Madgic-Redding of Seymour, Nancy Rollinson (John) of Shelton, Caryne Santore (Kenneth) of Seymour and Susan McDuffie (Kevin), and his brother, Robert Madgic, of Anderson, CA. He also leaves behind 13 grand and 5 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday Feb. 19 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Derby. Burial will be private. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia has been privileged with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105.  Visit St. Jude Donor Services: (800) 822-6344.
