Milton H. Hupprich, age 87 of Seymour passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Milt was born February 3, 1938 in Derby, CT, the son of the late Reinhardt and Helene Hupprich.
He grew up in Seymour and graduated from Seymour High School in 1955. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1962.
Milt married Irene McGuire in 1959 and made a lifelong home together in Seymour. He worked for the Klarides Family Supermarket for 32 years, retiring as the store manager. He began a second career as a Special Deputy for the New Haven County Sheriff’s Department, working in the New Haven Superior Court until retirement.
Milt was an Honorary Captain of Ansonia’s Charters Hose Company #4 where he was a member for over 50 years and forged many lifelong friendships.
Milt enjoyed bowling and fishing but most of all spending time with family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and the best grandfather a child could hope for. Anyone who knew Milt was touched by his kind -hearted nature; he will be missed by all.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Irene, daughters Carolyn ( Charles ) Griffing and Nancy Middendorf (partner Shawn Teves). Grandchildren Timothy Griffing , Alison (Jacek ) Liberda, Derek and Nicole Middendorf, great granddaughters Silvia and Violet Liberda and a great grandson expected in March.
He was predeceased by brothers Ortwin and Walter Hupprich and sisters Edna King and Elsa Richter.
The family is grateful for the care and compassion provided by the staff at Shady Knoll Health Center during Milt’s time there.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday Sept. 25 at 12 NOON from The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins. Burial follows in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
