Maria McDonnell lived in this world for 74 years before joining other family and friends on July 23, 2025 who predeceased her including her parents, Joseph and Anna Klimovich McDonnell, and her brother Eugene McDonnell. Ria began her journey July 19, 1951 in Derby, CT then attended Assumption School and graduated from Ansonia High School. A proud citizen of "The Valley." She enjoyed a good joke, time with family and friends, her beloved kitty, Griffin, singing at Holy Rosary church, visiting the casino, a bit of shopping, and trivia about tv, music, and history. Maria was also an avid fan of UCONN Women's Basketball. She worked at and retired from both Southern New England Telephone/NETCO and Griffin Hospital where she happily provided customer support and created solid friendships. Maria leaves her brother Joseph McDonnell and wife, Donna, of Florida, her niece, Heidi, and grand nephew, Caelen, in addition to a host of loving cousins & friends whom she cared deeply about, especially those who helped her when she was ill. A remembrance celebration of Life will be held between 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., Sept. 27, 2025 at Jesse Camille's Restaurant in Naugatuck, CT. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, has been privileged with arrangements.
