Joseph Parr Jr., a 90 year old Ansonia resident and husband of the late Teresa Scanlon Parr, entered into eternal rest at home April 21. He was born in Derby to the late Joseph and Sophie Ostrosky Parr on March 14, 1936. He worked as a machinist for Black & Decker until retirement. Joseph was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption, as well as a member of The St. Sebastian Club in Ansonia and Catholic War Veterans in Derby. He was also an avid Yankees fan. He is survived by his daughter Janet Byron and her husband Jon of Ansonia. He was predeceased by his brother Charles and sister Lillian Majewski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. from The Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. Friends who wish may make donations in Joseph’s memory to The St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
