James M. Relihan, a 94 year old Orange resident, entered into eternal rest Dec. 10 at St. Raphael’s Hospital in New Haven. He was born August 18, 1927 in Derby, son of the late James and Mary O’Connell Relihan. A Derby H.S. graduate, he was a self employed furniture restorer and known as ‘The Furniture Doctor’. He was a parishioner of Holy Infant Church in Orange and was a member of The Knights of Columbus. He was predeceased by his wife Corinne Sponheimer Relihan, his son Robert Relihan, his brother Joseph Relihan and his longtime companion Eileen Marsden. He leaves to cherish his memory 3 sons, James Relihan (Geraldine Taradine) of Naugatuck, Donald Relihan (Susan) of Orange and Joseph Relihan (Camille) of Ansonia, 2 daughters Kathy Magowan (John Carew) of Ansonia and Eileen Santanelli (Dr. James) of Hamden, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Friends may call on Tuesday, Dec. 14 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. directly from the funeral home. Friends can call from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. before the service begins. Friends are asked to wear masks. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
