Ioanna (Vartelas) Madigosky

Ioanna “Chookie” Madigosky, 74, of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on March 31, 2022.  She was the wife of the late Howard D. Madigosky, and daughter of the late Constantine and Calliope Vartelas.  She leaves behind her beloved children, Tia and Jason, cherished grandson Jacob, special aunt Esta Nickas, and many loving family members.

Throughout her thirty year teaching career in the Ansonia Public School district, Ioanna touched the lives of countless students and their families at Peck and Mead Elementary schools.  She was also considered a friend and mentor to colleagues, always willing to share her wealth of experience and knowledge.

Calling hours will be on Friday, April 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin Street, Ansonia.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a burial at Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Ansonia Animal Shelter, 2  N. Division St. Ansonia, CT.
