On Friday September 30th, 2022, Huey Young, a loving man and father of three, passed away at age seventy-eight. He was born in Louisiana to parents Willie Young and Olivia Woolridge; and his six siblings Mary, Sadie, Barbara, Janie Diane, Donna and Billy.
He was a retired employee of Ansonia Copper & Brass, a Freemason member (a brotherhood committed to lives of honor, integrity and character), and the president and long time member of the Central Subalpi Club, a very special place that was near & dear to his heart.
Huey enjoyed playing pool and dominoes, watching a good boxing match, making homemade moonshine, listening to Louisiana jazz, soul music, and spending time with family and friends. He was known for his quick-witted humor, a vivacious personality, a generous heart and always making people around him laugh. And let’s not forget what a sharp dresser he was, suited in booted with hat and sunglasses.
He is survived by his former wife- Geraldine; three children- Schronda, Angela, Huey; son-in-law Bernard Bostic, daughter-in-law Stephanie Young; Three grand children Bernard Bostic, Jaden Young, Chase Young; and several loved nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 15, at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, CT. 06401. Friends may call from 1:00- 3:00pm, with Memorial services following. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
