Howard R. Allen, Sr.

Howard R. Allen, Sr. was born on May 3, 1931 in Ansonia, CT to the late Raymond and Florence Allen. Howard, a longtime Valley resident, was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Anna J. Allen, passed away at home on February 26th with his family by his side. Howard served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Tokyo, Japan, Korea and completed his service in Alaska. He worked for Seymour Specialty Wire in Seymour until his retirement. Howard was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia, and was a life-long member of the Catholic Men’s Club and a Scoutmaster. He was a fun loving man and leaves behind his many adages and funny songs for his family to pass along.

Howard leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters Catherine Foster (Scott) of Ansonia, Debra Arms (Robert) of Seymour, Susan Gervais (David) Port Charlotte, FL, and Laura LaFrancois (Shane) of Beacon Falls, his son Howard Allen Jr. (Michelle) of Southbury and his brother Raymond G Allen of Derby. Poppy will be dearly missed by his 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 1st at 10:00 am with friends asked to go directly to Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Burial with military honors rendered will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.  There will be no calling hours.
