Gordon E. Childs III

Gordon Childs III, a 71 year old Ansonia resident passed away July 5. He was born Feb. 16, 1955 in Derby, son of the late Gordon Childs Jr. and Doris Torrey Childs. Gordon was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, and worked as a welder for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford. Gordon was raised in The 1st Congregational Church, and was a member of The Eagle Hose Fire Co., both in Ansonia. He leaves two sons Torrey Childs of Beacon Falls & Gordon Childs IV of Ansonia, 4 brothers Geoff Childs (Liz) of Virginia, Jerry Childs (Cheryl) of Ansonia, Stephen Childs of Seymour, and Richard Childs of Florida, and a grandson Collin Childs of Beacon Falls. A Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 13 at 11:00 a.m. from The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
