Francis J. Briggs

Francis J. Briggs, Sr, born on December 8, 1931, was the son of Phillip and Beatrice (Howard) Briggs. He passed away on August 12, 2025. A native of Fair Haven, VT, he served in the Navy for four years. Before relocating to Connecticut, he worked at Fair Haven Slate.  Fran had a career at Sikorsky Aircraft where he started as a leadman and later taught apprentices. He was an avid sports enthusiast and particularly enjoyed ice fishing.  Upon retirement, Fran became very active in the Knights of Columbus, holding several positions. He also enjoyed bowling and puzzles. He was a parishioner at Assumption Church in Ansonia, where he contributed to the church's upkeep.

Fran is predeceased by his parents, his son Francis Jr, his sister Pat, and his brothers Paul, John, and Michael Sr and nephew Michael Jr, with whom he cherished spending time. Funeral services will be held privately by the family with burial following in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia has been privileged with arrangements.
