Ernest Vann, a 67 year old Ansonia resident, died Feb. 8. He was born in Sampson County, N.C. on Oct. 6, 1953 to the late Mary Christine Monk Vann and Roosevelt Vann. He was a graduate of Clinton High School. He worked for the North Main St. Package Store in Ansonia as well as Stop & Shop in Seymour. Ernest attended The Evangel Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Ansonia. He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Lillian Vann, aunts Annie Bell Barden, Berline Simmons, and Mary (Floyd) Collins, nieces Andrea (David) Hill, Yashica (Willie) Butler, nephew Paul (Melita) all of Clinton, N.C., nephew Dennaris (Lanae) Butler, special cousin Revena Monk, devoted friends Penny Tinney and Serena “Dot” Mills, James Mills, and David Moore, all of Ansonia, step-son Dennis Tinney of Derby, step-daughter Letrese Cook of Ansonia, step-grandchildren Kamryn Thomas, Mason Boyd as well as other grandchildren and a host of cousins and friends. Services celebrating his life will be held and will be announced at a later date. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, has been entrusted with arrangements.
