Doris Childs

Doris Childs a 95 year old a lifelong Ansonia resident and wife of the late Gordon Childs Jr., entered into eternal rest Oct. 31. She was born April 15, 1926 in Braintree MA., daughter of the late Charles and Bertha Rundle Torrey.  Doris worked as a legal secretary and was a member The Legal Secretary Association of New Haven County. She was a former active member of the First Congregational Church in Ansonia. She leaves five sons, Geoffrey A. Childs (and his wife Elizabeth) of Derby and Gordon E. III,  Gerald  A., (and his wife Cheryl) Stephen M., & Richard T. Childs, all of Ansonia, and grandchildren Torrey, Gordon IV, Aaron, Kelly & Matthew Childs. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother Roger A. Torrey. Friends may call on Wednesday, November 3 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
