Concetta Santore Obituary

Concetta (Connie) Terrasi Santore, widow of Peter J. Santore and longtime Ansonia resident, passed away March 24. She was born August 6, 1929 in Ansonia, CT daughter of the late Mary Mule' and Rosario Terrasi. Left to cherish her memory are her children Carol Zemaitis (Donald- deceased) of Ansonia, Peter Santore (Adelene) of Congers, New York; Susan Lew (Robert) of Indianapolis, Indiana; Kenneth Santore of Ansonia, as well as Grandchildren Peter Zemaitis (UT) Amy Guarino (Joe)(CT); Lauren Leanza (Chris) (IN); Jordan Lew (TX); Ethan Santore (CT); Evan Santore (NY) and Great Grandchildren- Giulia Concetta and Anthony Lew Leanza of Indiana. She was a graduate of Ansonia High School, the Stone School of Business as well as a Communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. She worked for many years in a variety of positions including Legal Secretary, Billing Clerk, and Bookkeeper for the Evening Sentinel. She most recently worked as a realtor for Botti Real Estate.  Connie enjoyed gardening and reading in her spare time. She was also an excellent cook, specializing in Italian favorites. Connie was ahead of her time with regards to nutrition and healthy eating, serving her family lower fat options which she devised, and focusing on good nutrition throughout her life.  Her insightful wisdom likely contributed to her lengthy life of 94 years. Most importantly, Connie was a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and daughter. She spent her entire life championing and assisting family members in need. She was selfless and tireless in her love and devotion to her family. Above all, she loved God and He was the central point of her life and existence, the center from which everything else flowed.  Connie frequently quoted scripture and loved the passages: " If God is for us, who can be against us?", and "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad". Psalm 23, "The Lord is my Shepherd "was also well loved. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday April 5th, with non-immediate family and friends asked to go to Holy Rosary Church for 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt.
