Barbara Anne (Ferguson) Jackson

Barbara F. Jackson, 82, of Shelton, passed away peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital on July 11, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Steven Jackson to whom she was married for 60 years.

Barbara was born on February 20, 1941 in Derby to the late James and Louise Ferguson.

A graduate of Ansonia High School, Quinnipiac University and the Naugatuck Valley Community College Nursing program, she worked as registered nurse for more than 25 years at Waterbury Hospital, Cheshire Community Care Services and Masonicare.

Barbara was an avid world traveler, having visited numerous countries with family and friends. She was also a connoisseur of fine dining, who was known for preparing delicious meals for loved ones and rarely missing a New Haven Restaurant Week.

Barbara is also survived by her son Jeffrey of Yonkers, NY, her sister Louise Dickerson of Cheshire and her brother John (Kathleen) Ferguson of Pawcatuck.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 19 at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church, 47 Franklin St. in Ansonia. Friends may call at church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Lung Association or the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, has been privileged with the arrangements.
